Located in Northwest Austin and bordered by Capital of Texas Highway (360), Research Boulevard (Highway 183) and Spicewood Springs Road, is a neighborhood with approximately 1,900 homes. Development of the area started in the 70s and continued through to the beginning years of the 00s, and included both national home builders as well as custom home builders. Great Hills is one of Austin's largest neighborhoods and rests amongst rolling hills and abundant wildlife. Great Hills is also the more generic term for the area, including those areas in The Dominion, The Fairway, Windridge, Cherry Hill Park, Oak Forest and Austin Hills.
